About
My name is Jeff Donovan. I am a software engineer and have been developing business applications for almost 20 years. I started working with dBase, then moved to Microsoft Access in its very early years, then VB4 16-bit, VB5 and VB6 using SQL Server 6.0/7.0/2000 as the database server. Once I started using VB6 and SQL Server 2000, I earned my MCSD and MCDBA. Once Microsoft .Net 1.0 arrived on the field in alpha form, I started programming in C# and some VB.Net and have continued with .Net ever since. I currently use .Net 2.0/3.5 and C# along with SQL Server 2005 creating mainly ASP.Net web-based applications and have been working with ASP.Net MVC 2.0 as of late along with WCF for the services.
Throughout my career, I have worked for an aerospace company, a government contractor, software company, consulting companies and now a healthcare-related provider. I have worked on projects for line of business applications for engineering departments, the financial industry, a retail property company, the scientific community, and multiple healthcare companies. So far, it has been fun and exciting and I don’t see it getting old or boring anytime soon.
I hope you enjoy what I have to say and I hope what I have learned and can pass on to others eases your development experience.
Thanks,
Jey
